Glad to present an Assembly Certificate of Recognition to Gabriela Nicole Tan Smith for winning the prestigious Nursing Students in Sacramento Internship (#NSSI) statewide competition.

Gabriela is a bright future leader who wants to break barriers between nurse leaders and elected officials.

#AggieSquare is a quadruple win for the Stockton Boulevard corridor, the City of Sacramento, UC Davis and the State of California. This partnership will allow the University of California to accommodate more students, support small businesses in our community and foster economic development throughout the Sacramento region. The state will be an important partner in this project and I am committed to make sure this ambitious innovation hub and satellite campus becomes a reality.

It was my honor to recognize Mary Freeman for the Assembly Holocaust Remembrance Floor Ceremony. Mary survived a treacherous childhood of segregation, displacement, bombings and death camps. She is a true reflection of bravery and resilience.
